Always Be a First-Rate Version of Yourself

you be you quote

We as humans put on many masks so we can “fit in” with society. What happens when we begin to shed the masks and embrace who we truly are? I came across this Judy Garland quote the other day and I thought I would share it here with you lovely yogis and yoginis.

“Always be a first-rate version of yourself instead of a second-rate version of somebody else.” Judy Garland

Just For Now

Just for now, without asking how, let yourself sink into stillness.

Just for now, lay down the
weight you so patiently
bear upon your shoulders.
Feel the earth receive
you, and the infinite
expanse of sky grow even
wider as your awareness
reaches up to meet it.

Just for now, allow a wave of breath to enliven your experience.

Breathe out
whatever blocks you from
the truth. Just for now, be
boundless, free, awakened
energy tingling in your
hands and feet. Drink in
the possibility of being
who and what you really are
so fully alive that when you
open your eyes the world
looks different, newly born
and vibrant, just for now.

Your task is not to seek for love… Rumi

YOU ARE SIMPLY THE

I know this is where my work lies. It’s been a long and sloppy process of breaking down barriers for me and it’s been a tremendous growing experience. Yoga saved my life.

Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built. -Rumi
