Yoga Basics
Yoga basics is offered as a workshop. Please check out our Workshops page to see upcoming dates. Private lessons are also available.
Vinyasa Yoga (1-1 ½ hrs)/ Hot Flow
A vigorous multilevel vinyasa class with a flowing sequence of pranayama, sun salutations, standing and balancing postures, backbends, forward bends, inversions, twists, and of course core work followed by a 5 minute Savasana. Hot Flow is a vinyasa practice in a heated room (93°- 100° Fahrenheit).
Vin-Yin Yoga (1 hr)
This class begins with 30 minutes of vinyasa to heat the body and remove kapha from the body and ends with deep stretches to release tension and unwind from the day’s stresses.
Hatha Flow Yoga (1-1 ½ hrs)
Hatha Flow is an all levels class. This class is designed for people newer to yoga and for those overcoming injuries/illness. In this class we use the sun salutations to warm up and then begin to work into longer holds to build strength and flexibility. For more detailed info click here.
Restorative Yoga (1-1 ½ hrs)
A restorative practice to balance the body, mind, and spirit. Bolsters, blankets, straps, and blocks are used to support the body in seated and lying postures. Longer holds are utilized to allow the muscles to relax and the mind to calm. This practice is ideal for those living a high stress lifestyle and for those who would like to invite more calm into their lives. For more information click here.
Yin Yoga (1-1 ½ hrs)
A supported practice on the floor utilizing bolsters, blankets, belts, and sandbags to gently open the body by gently applying tension to connective tissue and stretching large and small muscle groups.
Yoga for Injury Prevention (1 hr)
Yoga for Injury Prevention is a gentle yoga practice that focuses on creating mobility in the joints, while strengthening the muscles that provide stability and support to the joints. This class is appropriate for those healing from injury/illness (with doctor approval).
Lengthen and Strengthen Yoga (1 hr)
Lengthen and Strengthen is a Level 2 vinyasa inspired class that includes sun salutations, extended balancing series, and static poses to build heat, strength and flexibility. This class is not for beginner students. Bodily limitations are honored and modifications are offered.
