You don't need convincing. You need permission.

If you’re here, you’re already half decided. You’re not weighing whether a yoga retreat in the Blue Ridge Mountains this fall sounds good — you know it does. What you’re really doing is waiting for a reason to say yes without guilt.

So here it is.

Picture the actual days. Mornings that start slow, with coffee and no agenda. A yoga practice that meets you where you are and still asks for your effort — and trails that do the same. Waterfalls and cold creek dips that make you gasp and laugh at the same time. Afternoons with nowhere you have to be. Maples and oaks turning toward gold and copper. Long meals with no one rushing you. Nights around the fire where women say things they don’t usually say out loud.

You don’t have to be more rested first. You don’t have to wait for a calmer season. And you don’t have to earn this.

You just have to say yes to the part of you that already did.

“It’s so fabulous that you’ll want to return again and again — I’ve just completed my 4th. Perfect for any woman, whether you’ve never ‘done’ a retreat or are a seasoned traveler. Try it; you’ll be glad you did.”
Candice K. · 4th Ambuja retreat (Asheville, NC)

This Yoga Retreat near Asheville is for You If...

  • You want real yoga taught well — not influencer yoga, not gentle-only
  • You miss being outside, in your body, with your phone put away
  • You know how much you need a break from planning, organizing and managing life
  • You want to connect with women who get it, without you having to explain yourself half a dozen times
  • You're done waiting until life is calmer to do this
  • You want food someone else planned, cooked, and cleaned up, eaten slowly, in a cabin next to a cozy fire
  • You're ready to laugh louder, take up more space, say what you actually think
  • You want to come home to your people feeling like yourself again

“Autumn’s retreat met the desires of both experienced yogis and those who had never practiced yoga before. Many yogis traveled alone, yet we all felt connected after some time together.”

What Makes this Yoga Retreat Near Asheville Different

It’s a reclamation retreat. Not just a rest retreat — even though the rest here is real. Sound bath, yoga nidra, slow restorative evenings: you’ll get the long exhale. It’s just not the destination. These four days are about picking back up what you’ve been quietly putting down — your strength, your voice, your honest desire, your own scale. The arc bends toward reclaim → expand → claim, not just release and recover. You won’t just leave rested. You’ll leave more yourself.

Movement that puts you back in your body. Real hikes — waterfall trails, ridgelines, miles under your feet. A morning flow with some heat in it, and Goddess pose held long enough that you remember you have legs, and a right to take up room. None of it’s about pushing or performing. It’s about coming back into a body that’s been on autopilot — and feeling how much it can still do.

Land that asks nothing of you. NC has a specific texture: ancient forest, creek and waterfall, mountains older than the Himalayas. It’s quiet in a way that’s hard to find anymore. Nothing here grades you or needs anything from you — you can just be on it. And in that kind of quiet, it gets easier to trust yourself again, to get honest about what you actually want. That’s the rooted part of Rooted & Wild. The wild part is the freedom that comes once you do.

12 women. Two sessions. That’s it. Not 40. Not 25. Twelve per session, four days. You’ll know everyone’s name by lunch on Day 1 — and so will Toni, who cooks every meal by hand and leads one of the workshops. The food isn’t catered in; it’s made by someone who’s in it with you. By the closing fire, they’re not strangers anymore — they’re women who get it without you having to explain. And for a few days, you get to stop being the one everyone leans on.

Taught with neuroscience underneath. Polyvagal theory. Vagal toning. RAS retraining. Aligned action. Not “manifest your dream life in 21 days.” Real practices for real nervous systems, with the science behind why they work — so what you take home is portable, not vibes.

Picture This...

Imagine waking up in a cabin tucked into the trees, the creek running just feet from your window. Cool mountain air. Coffee in your hands as you walk to the yoga barn, fall color just starting to turn outside the door.

You move. Strong vinyasa, breath audible, sweat coming. Your teacher coaches you into Goddess pose and asks you to hold it longer than is comfortable — bigger than feels appropriate, take up more space than you’ve been taking — and somewhere on the third deep breath you remember what your body is actually for.

You eat a slow breakfast someone else cooked. You’re not in charge of anything.

Mid-morning, hiking boots on, you head out with the group. Switchbacks up through hardwoods — the leaves have just begun their turn to burnt orange, copper, and deep red. The trail asks more of you than you expected. You stop at a waterfall. Someone makes a joke that lands harder than it should and the laughter ricochets down the trail and you feel — for a second — like the version of you who used to laugh like that all the time.

Back at the cabin you have hours of nothing. You read, you nap, you swim in the creek if you’re brave enough for the cold. You sit on the porch with another woman and tell her a real story about your life. She tells you one back. Nobody is performing.

At dusk you’re back in the yoga barn — slow flow, sound bowls, lights low. You eat dinner together. Someone at your table says the thing she’s been holding for two years and the table goes quiet, and then someone else says hers, and by the time you get to the firepit you all know each other in a way you don’t know most of the people in your life.

You stay up later than you meant to. You sleep deeper than you’ve slept in months.

You’ll do this for four days. By the end, you won’t be the woman who arrived.

“Doing yoga twice a day and then afternoon hikes was exactly what my body was looking for. If I wanted to move through grief, I had to get my body moving again. It has helped so much. This was life changing for me.”
Jayne R., CA

After this North Carolina Yoga Retreat

You will have...

  • A body that remembers what coming alive feels like. Real movement on Blue Ridge trails. Strong yoga that asks something of you. Cold creek air. Not as a memory — as a recent, somatic experience your nervous system can find again at home.
  • Tools you'll actually use after you leave. Breathwork that downshifts your stress in 90 seconds. Restorative shapes that work on your living room rug. The polyvagal science underneath both, so you know why they work — and can teach them to your daughter, your sister, your friend.
  • Friendships with eleven women who watched you become more yourself. Not abstract supportive sisterhood — actual women who saw you laugh at the dinner table on Day 2, who heard you say the real thing at the fire circle, who text you in November when you need it.
  • One specific commitment you made in the Blue Ridge that you're not going to undo at home. Something you decided about your life this week. You carry it forward.
  • The kind of self-trust that comes from doing something brave on purpose. You came on this retreat. You showed up. You let it land. That's a practice — not just an experience.
  • Your inner wild back. Not as a memory of the woman you used to be — as the one you came back to, on purpose, in the Blue Ridge, with eleven other women who watched you do it.

"From the moment I arrived, I knew this yoga retreat was something special!" "

From the moment I arrived, I knew this yoga retreat was something special! Nestled in a serene, natural setting, it offered the perfect escape from the noise of daily life. Autumn curated a thoughtfully planned schedule reflecting care, mindfulness and intention. The yoga sessions were truly exceptional! I felt completely supported throughout the entire retreat which left me feeling balanced and renewed every day. Beyond the mat the retreat offered fresh nourishing meals thoughtfully prepared by Toni, which that alone felt healing. The hikes and workshops were wonderful and added depth to the experience. The sense of community was powerful! The atmosphere was open, inclusive and genuinely heart centered. I formed meaningful connections that I know will last well beyond the retreat. This experience wasn't just a getaway, it was a reset for my body, mind and soul. If you're looking for retreat that nurtures every part of you, this is it!

"This was an amazing experience. I went into this retreat with no expectations because I had never experienced anything like this before. Autumn is amazing. She brings with her many different experiences and all of it comes together to make her retreats a joyful experience." "

This was an amazing experience. I went into this retreat with no expectations because I had never experienced anything like this before. Autumn is amazing. She brings with her many different experiences and all of it comes together to make her retreats a joyful experience. I decided to attend this retreat because I am moving through the grief process and this helped me realize that grief will always be there but it does not have to define me. Doing yoga twice a day and then doing afternoon hikes was exactly what my body was looking for. If I wanted to move through grief, I had to get my body moving again. It has helped so much. The food was fantastic. Toni did a great job in the kitchen keeping us all fed. I know she worked very hard at her job but it paid off. Thank you Toni. If you decided to go on one of Autumn’s retreats and you go in with an open heart and mind, I promise you, you will come out differently. There were many activities to do during the days and I decided to do all of it. As long as I was there, I wanted to get as much out of the experience as I could. I am so glad I did. Thank you Autumn for sharing your gifts with us. I will be attending another retreat in the future. This was life changing for me. Thank you.

Toni became a yoga teacher in 2010, with advanced training in Therapeutic Yoga, Reiki, and shamanic practice.
