About Autumn Adams, founder of Ambuja Yoga

When you choose yourself, you stop living by everyone else’s rules — and start living a life that actually feels like yours.
Joy isn’t a reward you earn at the end. It’s a non-negotiable part of living fully.
The moment you let yourself believe something better is possible, things start to change.
Meet Autumn
I’m Autumn Adams — yoga teacher, retreat leader, author, and mom. But I’m more than those roles, and so are you.
My Story
I used to believe the only way to live a good life was to follow the rules — stay busy, meet everyone’s expectations, push through the overwhelm. That path didn’t work. If you’ve ever felt like you’re juggling a thousand things while trying to find one quiet minute to breathe, you know exactly what I mean.
I’ve walked that same road of burnout — the years of being everything for everyone. Here’s what I learned: you don’t need to hustle harder, and you don’t need to keep putting yourself last. The life that lights you up isn’t out of reach. It’s right here, waiting for you to choose it.
In 2014, I founded Ambuja Yoga — not to give women an escape from their lives, but to help them come back to themselves. What started as a way to share something I loved became my life’s work. Over the past 13 years, I’ve led more than 40 retreats and worked with over 700 women — many of whom arrived running on empty and left feeling like themselves again.
How I Teach
Here’s the part most people get backwards: transformation doesn’t happen when you’re running on empty. It happens when your nervous system finally gets enough rest to feel safe again — and when you start making different choices from that steadier place. You can’t think clearly, trust yourself, or feel much joy from a depleted nervous system. That’s why my retreats are built to give you permission to breathe first, and let real change follow.
I weave together a background in dance, hatha and vinyasa yoga, yoga nidra, coaching, and mentoring. It’s not just about getting into the right poses — it’s about setting down old patterns, shifting from “I can’t” to “how can I?”, and meeting life’s unpredictability with grace and humor. I’m not here to tell you how to live. I’m here to remind you that you already know — your own intuition is just waiting for the space to speak.
When you choose yourself, you stop living by everyone else’s rules — and start living a life that actually feels like yours.

Teaching the Teachers
These days, I also mentor other retreat leaders in the business and craft of this work — because once you’ve seen what’s possible, you can’t help but want to show someone else. Watching a facilitator build a retreat of her own is one of my favorite parts of this whole thing.
Off the Mat
When I’m not leading retreats, you’ll find me hiking in the mountains, swimming in the sea, or chasing after my free-spirited little boy. I believe in a life that stays close to nature, adventure, and — most of all — myself. I want the same for you.
You don’t have to earn this. You’re allowed to want a life that feels good, and you’re allowed to want it now.
