- Where do sessions take place? In your home, outdoors, or in a local yoga studio in Wilmington, NC. Do you live outside of Wilmington? No sweat, I offer private yoga in neighboring communities.
- Do I need to bring anything? Just comfortable clothes—you don’t need a mat or props unless you want to use your own. You might like to bring a journal to jot down notes, however, I will provide notes and an action plan after each session.
- Can beginners do this? Absolutely. Private yoga is ideal for beginners because it’s tailored to your pace and ability.
- My schedule is so busy, how can I fit this into my day? With private yoga we work with your schedule. I can often accommodate early mornings, nap time sessions, between meetings, and even evening sessions.
- How long is a typical session? A typical session with me is 60-75 minutes, including set up and clean up. It is possible to accommodate, shorter or longer sessions.
- I am pregnant. Can I still do private yoga? Absolutely! I am a trained prenatal yoga instructor and mom to one wild toddler. Pregnant women are some of my favorite clients to work with and I would be honored to be a part of your journey with private yoga instruction. - What happens during a typical private yoga session? We take a few minutes to catch up, see how the previous week went and revisit your goals and priorities. From there, I will create a customized yoga practice for YOU. This will include yoga poses that follow a clear path to your goal and may also include meditation, breath practices (great for your nervous system), yoga nidra, or inquiry. I will demo the poses as needed, but will also offer verbal (and if appropriate, hands-on assists) to help you find the alignment that works best for your body. If requested, I am happy to offer reiki assisted shavasana to end our session. Afterward, we’ll take a few minutes to address any questions or concerns. I’ll clean up/pack up and you’ll be right back into your day, but feeling lighter, calmer, and stronger.
- How often will I need to practice? You will work with me 1-to-1 once or twice a week. This will depend on your goals and availability. To help you achieve your goals faster you will also receive a short practice guide for the days we aren’t meeting.
- What’s your cancelation policy? I know life happens. I’m a busy mom and business owner and I know just how hard it can be to manage schedules. Cancelations and rescheduled appointments more than 24 hours from your private session are changed free of charge. You’ll also receive one “free” cancelation if canceled within 24 hours of your private session. If you must cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled session and you’ve already redeemed your “free” cancelation, you will be charged the full rate for the session.
