Autumn Adams and Ambuja Yoga would like to invite you to join us our weeklong Bali yoga retreat. We are hosting our yoga retreat at Sarinbuana Ecolodge, Bali’s best kept secret. Sarinbuana has the closeness to nature that all of our yoga retreats do with all of the luxuries and thoughtful details of a small Balinese ecolodge.

We hope that you will join us in Bali as we celebrate all of life’s abundance through twice daily yoga, discussions about yogic philosophy, asana workshops, hikes and swimming in nature, and immersion into local culture through seva, temple visits, and partaking in Balinese traditions. Take a week to nurture YOU, to celebrate YOU, and give yourself the much deserved attention you need. You will have plenty of opportunity to reduce stress, deepen your yoga practice, and jumpstart a healthy and balanced diet and lifestyle.

I expect the Bali yoga retreat to sell out, so book early to book your room and avoid disappointment.

Autumn Adams will guide the group through twice daily yoga practices. Each morning will begin with a sunrise yoga session to wake our bodies. At this retreat you will gain a deeper understanding of human anatomy and how it incorporates into our yoga practice. You will also delve deeper into bandhas, breath, mudras, meditation, yoga nidra, and yogic philosophy; we will have ample time to play with inversions, modifications, and fun poses too. Be prepared to learn something new while making lifelong friends.

Evening yoga sessions will be more restorative in nature focusing on releasing deep, habitual patterns of holding and releasing fatigue and stress. Evening classes will also include guided meditation or yoga nidra. Read Autumn’s bio here.

Activities and Cultural Immersion at Sarinbuana Ecolodgeraw-food-bali-yoga-retreat

In addition to twice daily yoga and discussions about yogic philosophy and practice you will have the opportunity to explore Balinese culture. This retreat includes an hour long Balinese massage, a cooking class or temple offering class, and a trek to Batu Karu  Temple. Ambuja Yoga has also arranged an afternoon of seva (community service). Our afternoon of seva is traditionally a fun event, that allows you to connect with the local community on a deeper level while exchanging knowledge and camaraderie.  This is a day that we always look forward to.

There are many opportunities for exploration near Sarinbuana. You could learn about medicinal herbs/plants, go for a trek, swim in the swimming holes, explore the local community, learn how to give a Balinese massage…. the possibilities are endless. Autumn will also be available for private yoga lessons.

Our Exotic Retreat Tucked Into the Mountains of bali-yoga-retreat-accommodationBali

Sarinbuana is the sweetest little eco-lodge in Bali by far. The ambiance, the location, the staff, the food it is divine. It is also the perfect place to unwind, delve deeper into your yoga practice, and to celebrate nature and its abundance without any outside distractions. Farm to table meals served by the always smiling staff will nourish your body and soul.

Interested in learning more about Balinese culture? The local villagers will be happy to teach you how to make temple offerings, learn about local cuisine, temple rituals, etc. The majority of Sarinbuana’s staff come from the local village and you can tell. It is one tight-knit family full of love and laughter. The rooms at Sarinbuana all have fantastic views of lush Balinese hillsides and landscaping. There are nearby swimming holes to dip into in the afternoon and plenty of places to lounge about.

Sunrise in Bali is the most magical time of day to practice yoga on the island. The sounds of the jungle beginning to wake, the sounds of the island beginning to wake, the scent of incense in the air, morning mist rising from the jungle, the soft morning light. There is a sensuality about this time of day that wakes the body, mind and soul and brings them into harmony. It is stunning and worth waking up early for. After your first sunrise practice you will understand, I promise. our morning practices are designed to move you, both physically and mentally. Each morning class is built around a greater theme.

Our evening class, when the day’s sultriness begins to quiet down, the temperature cools, and the sun gets low in the sky we have the opportunity to move a little deeper, moving deeper into the physical body and potentially working through energetic blocks. Evening practice will also include either a guided meditation and pranayama practice or yoga nidra. All practices are deeply healing and are a fantastic way to deepen your yoga practice beyond asana.

Bali Yoga Retreat Arrival and Departure Information

Arrival Day Schedule*

<12:00pm Arrive Denpasar, Bali
12:15pm Depart Denpasar airport for Sarinbuana
4:00pm Arrive Sarinbuana
4:00pm Orientation
4:30pm Check-in to rooms
5:30pm Opening Circle
6:00pm Yoga (60 minutes)
7:00pm Dinner

*Arrival day schedule may change. I recommend that you arrive in Bali at least 24 hours before the retreat starts. Each retreat someone’s flight inevitably gets in late. Late arrivals will need to arrange their own transportation to Sarinbuana Ecolodge (300,000-400,000 IDR). I’m happy to recommend places to stay in Canggu, Bukit Peninsula, Seminyak/Kuta or Ubud. There are plenty of beautiful places to stay in Bali, you shouldn’t have a problem finding a wonderful place to stay no matter your budget.

Departure Day Schedule*

Please make sure your flight departs Bali no earlier than 2:00pm. We will make one trip to the airport on departure day. If your flight departs earlier than 2:00pm you may need to arrange your own transportation to the airport.

Indonesia Visa Requirements

Check with your Embassy before departing for Indonesia. Make sure your visa is valid for a minimum of 6 months and has at least two blank pages, not including endorsements. Depending on your home country you may be able to obtain a VOA (valid for 30 days and costs $35 USD) at the airport in Denpasar. If you will be staying longer than 30 days you must apply for a 60 day visa before you depart for Indonesia. I recommend applying 6 weeks in advance. If you overstay your visa you will be fined at the airport $20 USD/day… ouch! In June 2015, Indonesia announced that it was rolling out a new free VOA for certain countries. Here is a link to the Indonesia Visa exempt countries.

FAQ

Does Sarinbuana have wifi?

Yes, Sarinbuana has wifi in the communal dining area. It is strong enough to check email, Facebook, etc. but we ask that you refrain from streaming videos.

Where is Sarinbuana in Bali?

Sarinbuana is located in central Bali on the side of dormant Mt. Batukaru.

Will there be a beach day?

No, unfortunately with the shortened schedule and the long drive to/from the beach we have decided to opt out of a beach day, so we don’t up spending the majority of a day in the car. I do encourage you to either arrive in Bali early or stay longer to enjoy the beaches. Amed area, Bukit Peninsula, and Canggu/Seminyak all have nice beaches and/or have fun activities like snorkeling or surfing. Do your research before you choose to make sure that you choose the right beach.

What do I need to pack for the Bali Yoga Retreat?

You will receive a packing list a month or so before the retreat begins. It will provide excellent suggestions on what to bring and what to leave at home. You may also like to take a peek at this bog post: Bali Yoga Retreat Packing List.
